Spinning at Arts Safari

The wonderful weather Saturday made it a great day to volunteer at the Arts Safari at the Torpedo Factory in Alexandria, VA. The description of the event is at:

Members of Fluff `n Nonsense demonstrated spinning and gave kids an opportunity to try it out for themselves.

These are great pictures of the Arts Safari show! It was great to see children become really excited about the different things you can do with yarn! They really enjoyed weaving and trying to spin!! We were "outside" on the wharf directing all the children "inside" and there sure were alot of questions being asked of us! I was really surprised at the amount of men that stopped and inquired about the whole spinning process! Then the family from India who were telling us that it is mandatory for children in school to spin on the Charkha! It was great fun and a learning experience for us all!
